14 What good is it, dear brothers
and sisters, if you say you have faith but don't show it by your actions?
Can that kind of faith save anyone? 15 Suppose you
see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing,
16 and you say, 'Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat
well' - but then you don't give that person any food or clothing. What good
does that do?
17 So you see, faith by itself isn't enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
The Short Version
Divine Resourcing collects and organizes things (food, clothing, Bibles, backpacks, reading glasses, blankets, coats, clothing, etc.) and then arranges for their distribution to the appropriate ministries, agencies, groups and individuals that serve people in need.
These efforts are privately funded by individuals and groups that share our desire to help those in need.
Food as well as the other goods and services are provided to the organizations, groups and individuals we serve free of charge.
A Little More Detail
Sometime back, we responded to a call from Our Lord to help minister to God's children living on the streets of Atlanta. In the course of answering that call we learned that there were many ministries on the front-lines, working directly with people in real need, often in desperate situations, feeling completely out-of-control with nowhere to turn. These ministries and agencies do the best they can to guide these lost souls out of the mess they are in and back to a life worth living. These ministries are always scrimping by and rarely have the goods they need to actually help the people they are ministering to. Helping people has both spiritual and physical components. James, the brother of Jesus pointed this out when he wrote the passages above.
After the Lord opened our eyes to how little our Brothers and Sisters on the front-lines of ministry had in the way of the goods they needed, He began to open doors. First friends and neighbors began asking if they could drop off various items to be taken to the street, shelters or to recovery centers. Often our living room looked like a warehouse and it still does from time to time. But that was only the beginning, Praise God! The Lord has opened the hearts of a whole string of people and the next thing we know, we are given the opportunity to pickup perfectly good perishable food from grocery stores and provide that to ministries and agencies providing food to hungry people.
God continues to open doors. He placed a Brother in our path named Boake Moore. Boake's ministry, Mission Grounds Gourmet Coffee, sponsors project for underprivileged kids around the world. In the course of his efforts he partnered with Holman Bible Publishers and LifeWay Christian Stores and together they began a project to provide Bibles for distribution.
There is just so much more to all of this and it just goes on and on. Praise God! We pray it never stops.
